In an earlier article, I talked about the different types of female incontinence, or involuntary loss of urine. The most common type, stress urinary incontinence (SUI), is often a byproduct of childbirth because of its impact on the muscles of the pelvic floor. These muscles can lose their ability to support the opening of your bladder during certain activities. SUI is the leakage of urine that occurs when you laugh, cough, sneeze or exercise. Although it can be embarrassing, it is highly treatable.so there is no need to believe that you must go through the rest of your life with this problem. In fact, I have great news for you.
I offer a new, non-surgical treatment for this type of incontinence. It is called RenessaR and I offer it in the comfort and privacy of our own office. It is especially beneficial for many women who think surgery is the only choice and avoid getting help because they don’t want to be operated on.
The Renessa treatment takes about a half hour. It is done with a local anesthetic, so there is no pain. It uses a thin probe, which is inserted into the urethra (tube that carries urine from the bladder out of the body). The probe heats multiple, microscopic tissue sites in the wall of the urethra at the base of the bladder, and the probe is then removed. When it’s over, there are no incisions, catheters, bandages or dressings to change.
You can safely resume your normal activities the same or next day. Your recovery is rapid and comfortable, with few limitations. As the treated tissue heals over time, natural changes cause it to become tighter. Most women experience an improvement in their incontinence within 2-3 months.
In a U.S. clinical trial, 76% of women continued to experience reduced daily incontinence episodes during the year following the Renessa treatment. 68% used fewer pads each day, 58% used zero pads, and 35% of women were continent (cured). In addition, the Renessa treatment shows an excellent safety profile.
We have patients for whom the Renessa treatment turned their lives around after years of SUI. If you have activity-triggered leakage, however slight, don’t wait to get a consultation. This revolutionary treatment could have results for you that improve your lifestyle and increase your freedom and confidence.
